WORKERS' HEALTH IS MOST IMPORTANT

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia calls on all employers, in conditions when the entire territory of the country is affected by a wave of high temperatures, to respect the recommendations, as well as the measures from the action plan and to take care of the health of the workers.

Recommendations for employers, which will be valid in the period from July 23 to 26, 2025:

-It is recommended to exempt pregnant women and people over 60 from work obligations.

-Where possible, to enable remote work, flexible or double working hours.

-These recommendations do not apply to employees in critical infrastructure, such as healthcare, police, army, transport, energy and public utility companies

We also remind you of the valid measures from the action plan:

• Postponement of the work process from 11:00 to 17:00 for workers exposed to direct heat.

• Obligation to provide microclimatic conditions for work – rooms with a temperature of up to 25°C, except where the nature of the work does not allow otherwise.

• Continuous information to the public through institutions.

• Activation of internal protocols for work in emergency conditions in all healthcare institutions, nursing homes and educational institutions.
