SSM submits an change to amendment to the proposal for amending the Budget of the Republic of North Macedonia for 2022, for determining 2806 denars wage increase for employees in public sector sector

Today, the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia submitted to the MPs a proposal with an amendment requesting amendments to the budget, ie provision of funds with which the basic net salary of employees in state and local government bodies and other state bodies established in accordance with the Constitution and law, - institutions performing activities in the field of education, science, health, culture, labor, social protection and child protection, sports, army, police as well as in other activities of public interest determined by law, and organized as agencies, funds, public institutions and public enterprises established by the Republic of Macedonia or by the municipalities, from the city of Skopje, as well as from the municipalities in the city of Skopje to increase by 2806 denars in a net amount in accordance with the increase of the minimum wage published in Off. Gazette of RNM no. 41 of 24 February 2022 calculated from 01.07.2022 with the supplementary budget.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia reviewed the Proposal for amending the budget of the Republic of Northern Macedonia for 2022 submitted by the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and we are surprised by the fact that the proposer, although negotiations were conducted between representatives of the Government and the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia as the only representative trade union in the public sector and the consent was given by the participants in the negotiations by the Government and knew about the obligation to harmonize the salaries of workers in the public sector in accordance with the Law on naming and amending the Law on Minimum Wage published in Off. Gazette of RSM no. 41 of 24 February 2022, despite the agreement, no financial means are provided for harmonization of the salaries of the employees in the public sector and thus a rough attempt is made to play the employees of the public sector for harmonization of their salaries.

We expect support from all MPs, and especially from the party that calls us to submit a proposal in order to provide funds for a linear increase of salaries of public sector employees by 2806 denars in a net amount in accordance with the increase of the minimum wage published in Off. Gazette of RSM no. 41 of 24 February 2022.

If the MPs, representatives of the parties, remain silent on the legitimate demands of the workers and the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, there is nothing left but a massive general strike on June 22, 2022, which proves that SSM is leading this battle alone, and politicians only fight for their personal and party interests.

With respect,

Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia
