SSM: THE MAYOR OF SKOPJE, DANELA ARSOVSKA, SHOULD NOT SPREAD PANIC, THERE IS NO POLITICS IN THE LABOR STRUGGLE

The mayor of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, should not spread panic, but help in the fight for the realization of workers' rights and stop those who violate them, otherwise, the facts will be confirmed that workers' rights are being violated at her dictation by her sheriffs who as a reminder, they left more than 1,000 workers in JSP without pay, and now they want to leave more than 1,000 workers in JP Vodovod and Sewerage Skopje without a job if they are not obedient to its Acting Director.

At yesterday's extraordinary press conference in which Arsovska lied that Skopje's water would be cut off by the union, the panic was being spread, and at the same time slander and insult, in order to hide the illegal actions of her Acting Director in Plumbing and to escape responsibility for the illegal operation.

Obviously, for Mayor Arsovska, the flagrant violation of the laws established by state authorities is only a confirmed technical error, which represents complete ignorance of the regulations and an insult to the workers, and in addition to the inspection services, irregularities were also unanimously determined by the Management Board of the public enterprise, and thus 93 employees for who Mitovski personally considered being unnecessary to work in the enterprise will be employed in accordance with the previous announcement for the extension of their employment contracts until the end of 2022 in accordance with the program for employment in the enterprise, and the illegal duties of over 30 employees in the enterprise have also been abolished, and for which the union warned.

It is not clear where Arsovska sees politics in the struggle for labor rights when all competent services and institutions have determined violations of the Law and Collective Agreement to the detriment of labor rights, and only she has determined that there is politics in the struggle for labor rights.

The President of SSM, Darko Dimovski, as for any other information to the public, pointed out the consequences if any institution goes on strike, that this will mean a reduction in the services offered by the public company, in accordance with the laws, so if the employees of AD Posti go on strike, there is a stoppage in the reception and sending of mail, when JSP was on strike there was no one to drive the buses, if the employees of Vodovod were on strike there would be no shut-off of valves, but if a pipe burst there would be no one to repair it, there would be no one to worry about the water pumps, there will be no one to operate the machines and tools, there will simply be no one to maintain the water supply network unless Arsovska and Mitovski do it personally.

It is shameful and regrettable that in a time of such an economic crisis, the Mayor of Skopje is trying to profit from fake news and to instill additional fear in the citizens who barely make it through the month and are stuck in debt every day, and that the workers in public enterprises live in fear and panic for their livelihood and work, because Arsovska is powerless to deal with politicians on the one hand and its incompetent managers on the other hand, and chooses a battle with the workers and their representatives.

And we say that there is no politics in the workers' struggle and that the workers' organizations are also fighting against the bad policies of public officials who, thinking that they are all-powerful, knowingly break the laws and are held accountable for that!

SSM, together with the trade unions, informs daily about inflation, problems in enterprises, about non-respect of labor rights and will continue to inform and initiate initiatives about the injustices and arbitrariness of public officials, and directors and will publish about illegal phenomena and violations of laws on the back of workers and will demand responsibility from them.
