Request to the Members of the Parliament

Regarding the scheduled session of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Parliament of the RNM, regarding the proposed amendment, Sunday to be a non-working day or a day for weekly rest, the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia once again indicates that has not been invited to the session and cannot convey workers views on this proposal which was requested by CCM since 2017.

We point out to the MPs that the increase of the salary allowance for work on Sunday, according to CCM, should be at least 100 percent for every hour spent at work on Sunday.

CCM once again points out that we remain on the position that in order to prevent abuses it is necessary the day of weekly rest for the exceptions from paragraph 3 of the Draft Law on Labor Relations to be the day preceding or following the day Sunday.

We believe that the additional activities from paragraph (3) lines 40 and 41 of Article 2 of the Draft Law should be specified in details.

Regarding violation of the provisions of Article 134, we suggest that those employers who will be sentenced to work on Sunday, and will not be in the exceptions, to be banned from work in their overall process not just in the part of thier operations with seriuos imposed penalties.

Due to the seriousness of the proposals, we expect them to be taken into consideration and to be incorporated in the text of the Law in order to promote workers' rights.
