Today in the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, a meeting was held with the Trade Union Board at the Council of State of National Forests Skopje together with the General Director of the enterprise Prof. Dr. Zdravko Trajanov. The President of SGIP, Ivan Peshevski, highlighted all the problems faced by the employees, such as irregular payments of the field allowance, low salaries and the salary gap between employees, unpaid annual leave for 2023 and 2024, unsecured funds for personal protection etc.
The director emphasized in the discussion that the company is in a difficult inherited situation with barely collected funds for salary, but with the hope of overcoming all these problems in the shortest possible time. SGIP's priority request is the signing of a new collective agreement that will regulate all the rights and obligations of both parties and regulate salaries with new complexity coefficients by the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector.
All present agree that the new management must prioritize continuing negotiations and signing a new collective agreement for the company. The president of SGIP emphasized that these are only part of the problems that we must jointly discuss more often and through dialogue instead of through court because the main drivers in the company's work are the employees who invest daily and only demand respect for their rights. and dignified salaries, whose motive will be reflected in the future and on the new generations, and not to fear that we will remain as a country without forestry technicians and engineers. Forestry must be brought back to life as a branch that can contribute a lot to both employees and nature and thus to the country itself.
So far, the social dialogue has shown and proved that it is the only way to solve and balance the demands of workers and employers. The possibility of repeated Protests and Strikes is not excluded if these demands are not considered and agreed upon at a joint table with the workers. A meeting was also requested with the Management Board of the company, in which the Chief Trade Union Representative must take part, especially in the part about the planned reorganization of the company and the status of its employees.
SGIP together with SSM remain the only protectors of the rights of employees in construction, construction materials industry and forestry.
