CONGRATULATIONS ON THE OCCASION OF MINER'S DAY - AUGUST 28

The President of the SSM, Slobodan Trendafilov, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, congratulates August 28 - Miners' Day

Our engagement, together with the Construction, Industry and Design Union of Macedonia (SGIP); the Industry, Energy and Mining Union of Macedonia (SIER) and the Chemistry, Non-Metals and Metals Union of Macedonia (SHNM), is aimed at continuous initiatives to improve the position of employees in the mining sector, better working conditions and higher salaries.

Miners' Day in Macedonia is a holiday of Macedonian miners, at the proposal of the SSM, Republican Board for Macedonia - Union of Mining and Metallurgical Workers (today's Union of Industry, Energy and Mining of Macedonia - SIER), in memory of the first miners' strike in the Lojane mine, which began on August 28, 1929.
