In the Workers' House, a meeting was held between the President of the Federation Trade Unions of Macedonia, Slobodan Trendafilov and Tea Jarc, Confederal Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation – ETUC.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Council of the SSM Zlatko Cvetkovski, Elena Petrova and Kristina Jordanovska from the SSM and Giovanni Casale, ETUC Expert at the Committee for Collective Bargaining and Wage Coordination and Elizabeth Teren from the ETUC.
The President of the CSM Trendafilov informed the senior representatives of the European Trade Union Confederation about the activities of the CSM to increase the minimum wage, as well as to increase wages in the public sector by the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector and the need to increase all wages in the private sector with the increase in the minimum wage.
At the same time, he also informed about the political pressures on the SSM and its leadership, the lack of social dialogue with the inability of the unions to have their representative in the Economic and Social Council since the beginning of the year, as well as the intrusions into the unions to prevent them from fighting for an increase in workers' salaries.
The European Confederation of Trade Unions, of which the Confederation of Trade Unions of Macedonia is a full member, will inform about the situation with the Social Dialogue, workers' rights, as well as the respect for unions in the candidate countries for entry into the European Union, through the mechanisms at its disposal, next Tuesday at a meeting, which will also include the President of the CSM Trendafilov, and additionally the European institutions will be informed about the situation and developments in Macedonia.
