The Trade Union Minimum Basket for April 2021 has increased by 204,00 MKD compared to the previous month, due to the evident increase in the cost of living indicies for April, namely food and beverages by 1.2%, clothing and footwear for 1% and hygiene by 1.1%, therefore, the value of the Trade Union Minimum Basket for April 2021 is 33,976.00 MKD.
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia justifiably demanded in the past period that the minimum wage should be at least 60% of the average wage, because neither the average nor the two minimum wages cover the Union minimum basket, i.e. to cover the Basket of a family of four, we lack 3.596,00 MKD.
The amount of the harmonized minimum wage for 235,00 MKD, instead of 446,00 MKD as indicated by CCM is negligible due to the increase in prices of food and beverage products, clothing and hygiene which are an integral part of the Trade Union Minimum Basket.
