РThe leadership of the Independent Trade Union of Health today: reduction of the wages is crossing the red line

Independent Trade Union of Health, Pharmacy and Social Protection will hold a peaceful protest on September 24th. The protest will be an expression of dissatisfaction due to continuation of the Project "Performance Fee".

This was said today at the press conference by the President of the Independent Trade Union of Health, Pharmacy and Social Protection Ljubisa Karanfilovski. He explained that it would be a peaceful protest, outside institutions, during the break, and it will take about half an hour.

Any project that involves reducing the basic salary is unacceptable for the Trade Union. We reward wage increases, improving the position of the employees, but not the punishments. We act because we believe that the punishment violates the organizational climate in healthcare facilities, i.e. principles of collegiality, trust, cooperation and mutual respect, said Karanfilovski.

For the Independent Trade Union of Health the reduction in salary is the red line, said Karanfilovski.

President karanfilovski also explained that there is a disproportion in the method of calculating the salary. Everywhere in the world the ratio between nurses’ salaries and those of the physicians is at least 1:2, while we have the ration of 1:1,67 as a result of the introduction of gross salary.

Independent Trade Union of Health, Pharmacy and Social Security is the sole representative union for these activities, with 14.000 members, or 45% of the total of 32.000 employees in public and private healthcare.
