POOR WORKERS, RICH OFFICIALS

In Macedonia, in May 2025, 509,960 workers with calculated and paid net wages were recorded, of which 374,045 workers or 73.3% of workers received a salary below the average wage, and 135,915 workers or 26.7% of workers received a salary above the average wage.

The fact that 169,082 workers, or 1/3 or 33.1% of workers receive a salary below 30,000 denars or below 500 euros is worrying.

The refusal to increase the minimum wage by the Government, employers and parliament is causing direct damage to 169,082 workers and their families who cannot afford to provide the most basic living conditions for their families with two salaries, according to the value of the Union Minimum Basket, which is worrying.

In Macedonia, those who live well with incomes above the average salary (officials, politicians, bosses and experts) are against increasing the minimum wage, i.e. the minority rules the majority.

An official with a salary of 150,000 denars or 2,500 euros tells a worker with a salary of 24,397 denars or 400 euros that he will not increase his salary and how he lives well, probably so that the worker does not sigh too much.
