Today the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia and the Organization of Employers signed an Agreement to extend the General Collective Agreement for the private sector in the field of economy. The Agreement was signed by the President of CCM Zivko Mitrevski PhD and the President of ORM Angel Dimitrov.
It is extremely important that we sign a Collective Agreement in time of global economic crisis being also felt in Macedonia, thus demonstrating a clear desire of the social partners to create relationships and criteria of labor rights, said Mitrevski.
Mutual respect and respect for our differences is a key factor in the cooperation of social partners, said the president of ORM Angel Dimitrov. He explained that instead of the term “minimum wage” the category of "accounting currency unit" is introduced by which it is being given a possibility to the branches to compute the amounts in the respective branches.
At today's solemn meeting attended Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski, who stressed that the signing of a Collective Agreement without an intermediary is a confirmation that the social dialogue in Macedonia is reality. Government will always be nearby when regulating labor rights. We congratulate CCM and ORM since concluding Collective Agreement in times of economic crisis is a rarity in the region, said Minister Ristovski.
President Mitrevski informed the media that he disprove the statement of the so-called "labor rights expert" that announces some anonymous collective agreement which reduces workers' rights. Rather, today’s Agreement means strengthening of the position of social partners and a responsible attitude towards social relations and labor rights.
Today was also signed an Agreement on starting negotiations on amending the General Collective Agreement in the field of economy that should be done a year.
