Why do we need Collective Bargaining?

The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia stipulates that employment rights in Macedonia are regulated by law and collective agreements, and a Collective Agreement is concluded only by a trade union.

Collective agreements regulate the rights and obligations of the contracting parties that have concluded that agreement, and may contain legal rules governing the conclusion, content and termination of employment and other labour issues.

According to the Labour Law, there are:

1. General Collective Agreement for the private sector,

2. General Collective Agreement for the public sector,

3. Special Collective Agreements at branch level,

4. Individual Collective Agreements at the employer level.

The activity is being implemented within the campaign: LEGAL PROTECTION - SECURITY OF WORKERS' RIGHTS to raise awareness among workers and strengthen the capacity of SSM, with the support of the Project: Strengthening Social Dialogue, implemented by the International Labor Organization.
