SUNDAY- A NONWORKING DAY FOR THE COMMUNAL WORKERS

CCM and SUTKOZ, in the frameworks of the activites for the preparation of the new Labor Law, have submitted a draft Law to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in February 2019, aimed at protecting labor rights and securing a balance between work and family life. CCM on the basis of the proposals from the affiliated unions, including the Union of SUTKOZ, proposed a day for weekly rest to be Saturday and Sunday.

The analyzes and examples show that workers will be more productive and will have more time for family, rest and professional upgrading and training.

At the initiative of the Trade Union of SUTKOZ, led by the President Darko Dimovski, the PE COMMUNAL HYGIENE Skopje has decided from Saturday night until 7 pm Sunday to be a non-working day for the communal workers. During that time, their utility vehicles will not pick up garbage, and in addition garbage will be collected starting at 10pm on Sunday.

The Union of SUTKOZ welcomes such a measure and initiative accepted by the Director of PE "Communal Hygiene" Abdusamed Shabani and calls for this positive practice to be followed by a larger number of employers, in order to provide their workers with a better work-life balance.
