The financial support for the payment of workers’ wages in the most affected sectors was introduced at the very beginning of the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 at the request of SSM.
With the fifth package of measures, such financial support for the payment of workers' salaries continues, which prevents loses of jobs in the most affected sectors.
The conditions for receiving financial support for wages are the same as the fourth package of measures, and at our insistence, employers must keep the number of employees until 31.12.2020, thus, the workers who lost their jobs in January and February must be returned at work, if employers want to receive the financial support. By that we guarantee workers’ jobs in the period while the measure is used and the months after its completion, and this also applies to employers who want to use interest-free loans.
Additionally, at the request of the workers, SSM demanded that the employers receive a higher tax exemption when paying annual leave allowance and the Government accepted that such tax exemption to be applied for paid annual leave allowance up to 80% of the average salary. With this the obstacle for employers paying the amount of more than 40% of the average salary is overcome. We appeal to all employers to use this benefit and pay the annual leave allowance in the amount of 40- 80% of the average salary.
