Annual recourse must be paid

The attempts to manipulate and create suspicion among workers by some NGOs that allegedely protect workers' rights must be stopped.

The annual leave allowances for workers in the private sector must be pay and we remind that the validity of the Collective agreements can not be suspended by public authorities.

SSM and ORM with the signing of the General Collective Agreement have already agreed that the recourse for annual leave must be paid.

SSM as the only representative trade union in the country expects employers to fulfill the obligation to pay the recourse as set out in the Collective Agreements, and we remind employers that they have another 15 days until the end of the year to fulfill that obligation after which we expect authorities to fine those entities that have done the contrary.

Pursuant to Article 35 of the GCA for the private sector the recourse is paid in the amount of at least 40% of the base salary, provided that the employee has worked for the employer in the last 6 months in the calendar year.

THE GENERAL COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE PRIVATE SECTOR IS OBLIGATORY BOTH FOR THE EMPLOYEES AND THE EMPLOYERS.
